Words have the potential to shape and change the way we think about the world.

If you could single out one thing that needs to change, what would it be?

All sorts of people constantly decide what we should be talking about. But what is it that we’re not talking about? Real change requires that we step outside the circle drawn by those whose interests are served by the status quo.

There are no limits to the subjects that may be explored. Freedom, Politics, Parents, Religion, Sex, Nature, Race, Education, Beauty. Anything at all.

Enter the competition. Tell your story. Start changing the world.

PRIZES

- First prize: £200
- Second prize: £100
- The best contributions will be exhibited in a public space in London.
- We will also publish the best work in a serialised format on our website.

RULES AND GUIDELINES

- Entry to the competition is free and open to anyone.
- Include your full name, country of residence and the title of the work in the email.
- All submissions must address the question “What needs to change?”.
- There are no formal categories and you can use text, video, audio, photographs, or a combination of these to tell your story.
- By submitting an entry you confirm that you are the copyright holder and creator of the work and that you will be responsible for any claims by any third party.
- By submitting an entry you grant LibArts London the right and licence to use, reproduce, publish and display your work (in whole or in part).
- No work sent after 28 February 2013 will be accepted for the competition.

- Text should be written in English, except when it serves an aesthetic function or if you provide a translation.
- Text (even if it is a text-only submission) should not exceed 1500 words.
