There are two categories that are the same as last year and we have a brand new exciting opportunity.

Do you have a ‘Welsh’ novel in you?

The winner will receive a great package from Accent Press and our Patron Catrin Collier.

You will win a parcel of ‘how to write’ books and more importantly your work will not go into the ‘slush pile’ but will be considered for publication. However, this is obviously conditional on the work being good enough.

In addition you will get a one-to-one workshop with Catrin Collier, well-known writer of, among other things, Welsh novels.

What you need to do is send 150 word outline – look at the blurb on the back of published books to see the style you need to adopt. Also send the first chapter (not more than 1500 words)

You can only enter once and the entry fee is £3

As last year , we are looking for short stories with a maximum word count of 3,500 and poetry with a maximum of 60 lines. These two categories must interpret this year’s theme ‘ACTION’.

Entry fees for over 18’s: Short stories £1.50 each or three for £3; Poetry £1 each or £2 for three.

18 and under: entries are free. Prizes will be awarded to this age group.
