Entries exceeding the word or line count will not be considered. Prizes (per category): TOPIC This is an open competition to celebrate the inaugural festival so feel free to write on your favourite subject. PRIZES First – $200 voucher towards printing of your book and $100 cash Second – $200 printing voucher Highly Commended certificates will also be awarded ENTRY FEE $7.50 per entry; $18 for 3 simultaneous entries by the same author. Each entry is to be accompanied by a fully completed and signed entry form if mailed. Online entries must be accompanied by payment. DEADLINE 30 September 2011 ORIGINALITY All entries must be original and the work of the stated author only. Any entries found to contain plagiarising will be excluded from the competition, and, if prizes have been awarded, they must be returned. JUDGING The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. NOTIFICATIONS Award winners will be notified by email and/or phone. COPYRIGHT Copyright of entries remains with the author. PUBLICATION The Committee of the Indie Writers Festival reserves the right to publish the winning entries, without payment, on the organisation’s website and in a commemorative eBook. PRESENTATION Prizes will be presented at the Indie Writers Festival on 29 October 2011. Prize monies will be paid electronically to any winner/s who are unable to attend the presentation in person. SUBMISSIONS and PAYMENT Entries may be submitted online via http://indiewriters.submishmash.com/Submit Payment must be made for the entry to be valid. OR Two hard copies of each entry must be provided on A4 white paper, fastened with a paper clip, no staples, and posted to Indie Writers Festival, PO Box 66, Hastings Point, NSW 2489. Posted entries must be received no later than the closing date. The author’s name and address must not appear anywhere on the manuscript. Each page must be numbered and include the title of the story. Stories must be typed, double-spaced and no more than 1500 words, Any non-conforming entries will not be considered. As entries will not be returned, entrants should keep a copy of their work. Entries will not be accepted via fax, email, computer disc, or memory stick. Receipt of entries will be acknowledged by email only. Competition closes on Friday 30 September 2011. Late entries will not be accepted.
