Txt Lit is a new literary genre of creative writing using a mobile phone texting system, or SMS (Short Message System). A single mobile phone text message contains just 160 characters, including spaces and punctuation. We like to call stories written within these parameters Micro Stories.

Text a Story Now for a Chance to Win at Least £50

Finally. That's not the beginning of a statement from us, that's your theme for December.

As usual you are challenged to write a story within the confines of a single text message. Your story must be no longer than 154 characters including spaces and punctuation and there must be an apparent link to our theme, which for December is "Finally."

You do not have to use the word in your story but we must be able to see the link to the theme.

Once your story is written, precede it by the word STORY and a space, making it 160 characters in total, and send it as a text message from a UK mobile phone to 82085. Entries cost £1 plus the cost of a standard network text. Entries must be received during the month of December 2012. Entries submitted after this will be judged for the following month's competition.
